Text Box:         We were attracted to Fleckvieh Simmental for their following positive breed characteristics: (1) Exceptional growth (2) Srong milking & maternal (3) Docile dispositions (4) High yielding carcasses with minimal excess waste (5) One of the most numerous breeds of cattle world wide,  presenting an extensive and diversified gene base.        We have worked to build a herd of moderate size full-Fleckvieh without sacrificing growth. We use EPD’s as one of the management tools in looking for balance and performance.        We are committed to carcass improvement as evidenced by our participation in bull performance testing, steer feed outs, ASA herd sire testing program, as well as DNA testing through GeneSTAR for tenderness. The American Restaurant Association has reported for years the number one complaint among people dining out was “toughness” of beef.        All of the data gathered is key to our program development leading to management decisions which we believe can build market realization of the superior qualities this breed possesses.
